The etos* Guide to Sparkling Clean Bongs - Let's Get That Glass Bong of Yours Clean
Whether you use your glass bong daily or only for special occasions, one thing is certain: a clean bong is a good bong. Why? Because cleaner smoke not only tastes better, it's also healthier. Therefore: Here's your ultimate etos* cleaning guide.
Step 1: What you need
Before you get started, grab these things:
-
Isopropyl alcohol (min. 70%)
-
Coarse-grained salt
-
Hot water
-
Cleaning brush or lint-free cloth
-
A container large enough for your bong
Step 2: Empty the bong
Sounds basic, but it's often forgotten: First, pour out the old bong water. You can wipe away any residue with a cloth – the drier the start, the better the result.
Step 3: Take everything apart
Now it gets technical. Disassemble your bong into its individual parts—bowl, chillum, etc.—and place everything in your cleaning container. Pour your alcohol-salt mixture over the parts until everything is completely covered.
Exposure time: at least 30 minutes. The dirtier the product, the longer.

Step 4: Get it in – shake it, baby
Now fill your bong with a mixture of warm water and isopropyl alcohol (at least a 50/50 ratio) and add a generous amount of salt – this acts as a natural abrasive. Seal all openings with cleaning caps, tissues, or your hand and shake the thing vigorously!
Tip: Wear gloves if you don't want sticky fingers.

Step 5: Brush, scrub, shine
For stubborn residue, use a brush or a cloth. Pay particular attention to hard-to-reach corners. Afterward, briefly soak the parts again, then rinse everything thoroughly with hot water.

Step 6: The Freshness Check
Once all parts are clean and free of residue, you can reassemble your bong. It's now ready for your next clean hit – top-notch in terms of taste and health.
Cleanliness is self-care
A dirty bong isn't just unappealing—it can also harbor mold, bacteria, and bad vibes. Regular cleaning extends the lifespan of your bong and ensures better taste, better air, and a better vibe.
Our recommendation:
If used frequently, clean at least once a week.
If used infrequently: rinse briefly after each use.
